Fairfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Jackson-Olin Mustangs on Friday, falling 24-0. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Fairfield will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pleasant Grove at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
