Basketball Game Preview: Middletown Middies vs. Fairfield Indians

The Middletown Middies will head out on the road to square off against the Fairfield Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Middletown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Fairfield likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Middletown was able to grind out a solid win over Hamilton, taking the game 69-57. Given the Middies' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Big Blue are ranked 350th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fairfield has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 46-37 to Oak Hills on Thursday.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Middletown, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Middletown came up short against Fairfield when the teams last played back in January, falling 62-58. Can Middletown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
