Baseball Game Preview: Tracy Bulldogs vs. West Wolfpack

For the second straight game, Tracy will face off against West. The Bulldogs will challenge the Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tracy is on a three-game streak of home losses, and West a nine-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck.

Tracy blew West out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday West got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Wolfpack by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since February 28th.

Tracy got a good showing from Leland Freitas, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, Freitas gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Brady Brown made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Tracy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 8-13 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jacoby Freitas, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

With the win, West broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-18-1. As for Tracy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.

West's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Tracy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for West, though, as they've been averaging only 3.6 strikeouts. Will Tracy keep running through batters, or will the Wolfpack buck the trend?
