Recap: Gaylord Blue Devils vs. Petoskey Northmen
After a string of four wins, the Gaylord Blue Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Petoskey by a score of 62-59. Gaylord has not had much luck with Petoskey recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Gaylord still got an impressive performance from Luke Gelow, who went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 38 points and 2 assists. Gelow scored a full 64.4% of Gaylord's points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Keck, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Gaylord's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4. As for Petoskey, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gaylord will take on Sault Area at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sault Area is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Petoskey, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Traverse City West at 7:00 p.m.
