Basketball Game Preview: Angleton Wildcats vs. La Porte Bulldogs

The Angleton Wildcats will head out to square off against the La Porte Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, Angleton came up short against Iowa Colony and fell 39-31. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, La Porte suffered their closest defeat since November 21, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Santa Fe by a score of 55-52. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Indians are ranked 598th).

La Porte's loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-10. As for Angleton, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-11.

Angleton lost to La Porte on the road by a decisive 41-24 margin when the teams last played on January 3rd. Can Angleton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
