Basketball Recap: Arrowhead Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Gila Bend last Thursday, Arrowhead Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Arrowhead Christian Academy Eagles took a 40-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ville de Marie Academy on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with Ville de Marie Academy: they've now lost nine in a row.

Despite the defeat, Arrowhead Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Leah Rubio posted ten points along with five rebounds and five steals. That was a full 35.7% of Arrowhead Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Arrowhead Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Ville de Marie Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Arrowhead Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Paradise Valley Christian Prep at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. As for Ville de Marie Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ridgeline Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 17th.
