Mason Atkins posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 111 yards and one score on only 12 carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 56 yards.

Looking ahead, Atkins and West Aurora will challenge Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blackhawks got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Maroons thanks in part to Atkins: he threw for 133 yards and four touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground.
