After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dakota, Romeo was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Utica Eisenhower Eagles by a score of 6-3. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Katie Murphy looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Romeo let Ava Yaklin and Jess McLeod run wild. Yaklin went 1-for-4 with one home run, while McLeod went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That home run was Yaklin's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bailey Anton, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Romeo's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Utica Eisenhower, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Coming up, Romeo will welcome Stoney Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Utica Eisenhower, they will square off against Chippewa Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Big Reds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.91 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
