Softball Game Preview: Starmount Rams vs. West Stokes Wildcats

The Starmount Rams will face off against the West Stokes Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Starmount is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against East Wilkes on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 10-2. The Rams have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, West Stokes' rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They didn't even let Walkertown on the board, marking the Wildcats' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

West Stokes' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Starmount, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
