Soccer Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short

Hillcrest fought the good fight in their overtime match against Mauldin on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 1-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Mauldin this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Tuesday.

Hillcrest has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Mauldin, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Hillcrest wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 4-2 loss against Greenwood on the 15th. As for Mauldin, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against T.L. Hanna on the 15th.
