Basketball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Columbus lost against Sealy back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cardinals took a blow against the Tigers, falling 64-25. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-12.

Hale Demaree had another great game (as he tends to do), going 6-for-8 from beyond the arc to rack up 27 points and three steals for Sealy. With that strong performance, Demaree is now averaging an impressive 16.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrison Ward, who shot 70% from the field on his way to 15 points and six assists.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sealy, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Columbus and Bellville will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sealy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-20 victory against Tournament Opponent on the 13th.
