Softball Game Preview: D.C. Everest Evergreens vs. Appleton North Lightning

The D.C. Everest Evergreens will head out to square off against the Appleton North Lightning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last five games D.C. Everest has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Thursday, D.C. Everest needed a bit of extra time to put away Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Red Raiders 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Evergreens in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Appleton North lost a heartbreaker to Hortonville when they met back in May of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Lightning fell just short of the Polar Bears by a score of 1-0. The Lightning haven't had much luck with the Polar Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

D.C. Everest's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Appleton North, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.
