Softball Recap: Napoleon Sets Scoring Season-High Against Jonesville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Napoleon). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Jonesville Comets a 19-0 shutout on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Kaitlyn Fall was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Fall was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hayden Rendall was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-4. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Haven Marker, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Napoleon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Napoleon picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-7. As for Jonesville, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Napoleon will face off against Vandercook Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jonesville, they will take on Leslie at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Comets will need to watch out since the Blackhawks have now posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
