Recap: Okeechobee Brahmans vs. South Fork Bulldogs

It was a good run, but the Okeechobee Brahmans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 37-36 to South Fork. While losing is never fun, Okeechobee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while South Fork is ranked 58th).

When it comes to explaining why Okeechobee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Channing Delagall. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Delagall has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Corey Wilkerson, who scored eight points along with four steals and two blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Imarion Stanberry, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Beall, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.

Okeechobee's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for South Fork, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Okeechobee will take on Bayside at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Fork will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The timing isn't great for Westwood: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while South Fork has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
