Basketball Recap: Broome Victorious

Broome hadn't done well against Boiling Springs recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Broome Centurions secured a 44-38 W over the Boiling Springs Bulldogs. While the Centurions didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Despite the defeat, Boiling Springs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Karina Tsisun dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Kinard, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Broome's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Boiling Springs, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Broome won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Landrum at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Boiling Springs, they and Spartanburg Christian Academy will face off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Spartanburg Christian Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Boiling Springs surely won't give up without a fight.
