Softball Recap: Chatham Takes a Loss

Chatham had taken West Morris Mendham down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Cougars took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minutemen. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 8, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Chatham's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15. As for West Morris Mendham, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-11-1.

Looking ahead, Chatham will challenge Sparta at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.42 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for West Morris Mendham, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Morristown at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Colonials' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Minutemen's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
