Spackenkill is a perfect 9-0 against Millbrook since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Spartans will welcome the Blazers at 4:15 p.m. Spackenkill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Spackenkill's last matchup with Saugerties could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Wednesday. The Spartans came up short against the Sawyers, falling 11-1. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Sawyers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Millbrook, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over Dover on Tuesday.
Johnny Jacob was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Millbrook is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Jacob was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kole Tempestilli, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Spackenkill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Millbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Spackenkill has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Millbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Spackenkill beat Millbrook 10-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blazers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
