Basketball Recap: Zane Bodnar's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carolina Day over Christ School

Carolina Day lost against Christ School back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Carolina Day Wildcats came up short against the Christ School Greenies, falling 59-38. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Greenies are ranked first).

Carolina Day's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zane Bodnar, who posted 11 points. Bodnar continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Garris, who had 12 points.

Christ School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jimmy Jones out in front who put up ten points. Another player making a difference was Zymicah Wilkins, who posted eight points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Carolina Day and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Christ School, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carolina Day will host International Community at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Christ School, they will welcome Asheville Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christ School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Asheville Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
