Baseball Recap: Ridgeline Has No Trouble Against Green Canyon

Ridgeline lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Green Canyon, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Riverhawks put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 12-2 win on Friday. Considering the Riverhawks have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ben Thompson looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maddux Jensen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Clark, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Ridgeline's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Green Canyon, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Looking ahead, Ridgeline is taking a road trip to challenge Mountain Crest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Riverhawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Green Canyon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Field at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
