Salmon hasn't had much luck against Firth recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Savages will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Salmon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Salmon is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Firth on Monday. They lost 10-2 to the Cougars.

For Firth's part, Tonk Perry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, Darrell Vasquez and Cooper Park did most of the damage at the plate: Vasquez went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Park went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Park has posted over his last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Vasquez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Firth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive matchups.

Firth pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Salmon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Salmon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Firth struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
