Softball Recap: Greensburg Comes Up Short

Greensburg and Jennings County squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Greensburg had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Harper Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.

Greensburg's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Jennings County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Greensburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jennings County, they will square off against Franklin County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
