Basketball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They were dealt a 61-24 loss at the hands of the Portsmouth West Senators. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 624th, while the Senators are ranked 301st).

Eastern has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season. As for Portsmouth West, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

Eastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Portsmouth West, they will head out on the road to square off against Eastern at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Eastern's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Portsmouth West has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
