Basketball Recap: Kalskag Grizzly Bears vs. Chaputnguak Shaman
On Friday, Kalskag was beaten by the Shaman 59-28. While losing is never fun, Kalskag can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Shaman are ranked 19th).
Kalskag lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aurriaunna Peterson, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Levi, who scored seven points.
Kalskag has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Chaputnguak, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
Kalskag does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chaputnguak also has no future games currently scheduled.
