Baseball Recap: Warren Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Warren won the last time they faced Stevens and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Warren Warriors came out on top against the Stevens Falcons by a score of 7-3.

Alex Garza made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last five matchups. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other pitching news, James Hinojosa looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Joaquin Guerra was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Warren is undefeated when Guerra posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Adrian Lopez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Warren hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stevens struck out eight times.

Warren has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. Stevens has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Warren will have a chance to go back-to-back against Stevens: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
