Basketball Recap: Estero Takes a Loss

Estero suffered their closest loss since January 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the North Fort Myers Red Knights by a score of 54-51. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-44 last Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Estero lost, don't look at Amiya Lewis. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 16 en route to 26 points and eight rebounds. Lewis' evening made it 12 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. London Woods was another key player, putting up 13 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Estero smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 19 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Bianca Iten continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Fort Myers, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amrey Stockeland, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 11 points.

Estero's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for North Fort Myers, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home.

Estero has already played their next match (against Naples), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Fort Myers has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Island Coast.
