Gibson County hasn't had much luck against Milan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pioneers are taking a road trip to take on the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Gibson County's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Peabody by a score of 4-0.

Hannah Prestininzi and Andrea Criswell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Prestininzi didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Criswell struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. At the plate, Prestininzi went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Criswell went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Haley Mingle, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Joliegh McVay, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Milan narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Peabody 4-2. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Golden Tide recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Camryn Green spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
Gibson County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9-1 record this season. As for Milan, their record now sits at 21-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Gibson County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Milan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Gibson County skirted past Milan 3-2 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
