Recap: Eupora Eagles vs. Union Yellowjackets
The Eupora Eagles lost against the Union Yellowjackets on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Eupora took a 45-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Union. While losing is never fun, Eupora can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Union is ranked 101st).
Union got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rymia Craft out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Craft is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiara Campbell, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Eupora has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Union, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing J.Z. George the next time they take the court. Union will head out to face J.Z. George at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Eupora will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
