Football Game Preview: Holy Savior Menard Eagles vs. Oakdale Warriors

Holy Savior Menard is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will host the Oakdale Warriors at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Holy Savior Menard has three straight wins, Oakdale has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Holy Savior Menard's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Buckeye 42-0.

Jake Vaughan produced another solid effort rushing for 67 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 108 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Aidyn Moran was another key player, rushing for 126 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Holy Savior Menard was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Oakdale had to suffer through a 46-8 loss at the hands of Marksville.

Holy Savior Menard's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Oakdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
