Basketball Recap: DeWitt Comes Up Short

If DeWitt was feeling good fresh off their 47-23 takedown of Carlisle last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The DeWitt Dragons were dealt a 60-30 loss at the hands of the McGehee Owls on Tuesday. The Dragons have struggled against the Owls recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

DeWitt's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for McGehee, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeWitt will host Rison at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McGehee, they will face off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in McGehee's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Central has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
