Football Recap: Quitman Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Quitman extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 21-15 heartbreaker at the hands of the Union Yellowjackets. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly six points.

When it comes to explaining why Quitman lost, don't look at Bryce Gavin. Despite the final result, he threw for 103 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 38 yards.

As for Union, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average this season.

Myilan Moore had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 130 yards and one TD on only nine carries, while also throwing for 66 yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Quinn Harris, who rushed for 133 yards and one score.

Coming up, Quitman will face off against Pisgah at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons' defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Union, they will take on Clarkdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Yellowjackets 14, the Bulldogs 8.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
