Soccer Game Preview: Bloom vs. Blue Island Eisenhower

The Bloom Blazing Trojan will venture away from home to take on the Blue Island Eisenhower Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Blue Island Eisenhower took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bloom, who comes in off a win.

Bloom is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Crete-Monee on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Blue Island Eisenhower unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 3-1 to Lincoln-Way Central. While losing is never fun, Blue Island Eisenhower can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Lincoln-Way Central are ranked 29th).

Bloom's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Blue Island Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

Bloom skirted past Blue Island Eisenhower 2-1 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blazing Trojan since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
