Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Avery Silvas and Donnayja Gibson Lead Sierra Vista to Victory

Sierra Vista won the last time they faced Cimarron-Memorial and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Sierra Vista Mountain Lions enjoyed a cozy 51-32 win over the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans.

Sierra Vista was led to victory by Donnayja Gibson and Avery Silvas. Gibson almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards, while Silvas posted 12 points along with six assists and four steals. The contest was Gibson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Emma V was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Sierra Vista has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Cimarron-Memorial, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8.

Sierra Vista has already played their next game (against Doral Academy Red Rock), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cimarron-Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
