            New Brockton can  bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game  on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Excel Panthers  5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Gamecocks have posted  since February 24th.

 Jacob Fisher made a big impact no matter where he played. He  struck out nine batters over  6.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   five  hits. He is becoming a predictor of New Brockton's success: when he posts  at  least eight  strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Fisher was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  James Downing, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and two  RBI.  Bryant Crumpler was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-1.
New Brockton now  has a winning record of 8-7. As for Excel, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 10-12.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Brockton will venture away from home to  face off against Houston Academy  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Excel, they will take on Sweet Water at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday.
