Waverly (Neb.) and Blair (Neb.) produced one of the most unusual endings you will ever see in high school basketball on Friday night, just proving that sometimes different is better.

Blair's Quincy Nichols somehow drilled a shot from two-thirds court to break a 50-50 tie with five seconds left - but the heroic heave was waved off due to a foul before the shot, according to the Lincoln Journal Star.

Then Waverly's Jay Adams rattled in the apparent half-court game-winner at the buzzer - but head coach Ryan Reeder had called a timeout prior to the play.



However, Waverly's Merrick Deger promptly sank the game-winning, buzzer-beating dagger to give the Vikings a thrilling 53-50 victory as hordes of fans stormed the court.
