Basketball Game Preview: Westtown vs. Mercersburg Academy Storm

Westtown will take on the Mercersburg Academy Storm in a tournament on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Westtown saw some tournament action back in November. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 89-88 to Bridgeport International Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in November (71), Westtown still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Mercersburg Academy entered their tilt with GVCS Broadfording on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lions 81-51. That 30 point margin sets a new team best for the Storm this season.

Westtown's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mercersburg Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Westtown was able to grind out a solid victory over Mercersburg Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 60-49. Will Westtown repeat their success, or does Mercersburg Academy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
