Soccer Game Preview: East Jackson vs. Sonoraville

The East Jackson Eagles will challenge the Sonoraville Phoenix on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Sonoraville will be up against a hot East Jackson team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles' defense stepped up to hand Chestatee a 6-0 shutout on April 4th. The final result isn't all the surprising considering East Jackson's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Chestatee are ranked 355th).

Meanwhile, Sonoraville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Jackson 5-0 on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what Sonoraville needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

They hit Jackson with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Juliet Kindl (2), Skyler Bunch, Jaren Sanchez, and Malya Moore.

Sonoraville has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up five goals over those 12 contests. As for East Jackson, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
