Preview: KIPP King Lions vs. Hayward Farmers
The KIPP King Lions are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Hayward Farmers at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. KIPP King will be strutting in after a victory while Hayward will be coming in after a defeat.
KIPP King has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 27 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat Valley Christian 78-43 on the road. The win was just what KIPP King needed coming off of a 85-39 loss in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead KIPP King to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ja'mauri Woodfolk, who scored 24 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Woodfolk has scored at least 25% of KIPP King's points. Jacob Ledezma was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hayward took a serious blow against Amador Valley on Thursday, falling 74-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hayward has scored all season.
KIPP King's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Hayward, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
KIPP King was taken down by Hayward 71-41 in their previous matchup back in December of 2016. Can KIPP King avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
