Recap: Port St. Lucie Jaguars vs. Fleming Island Golden Eagles

The Port St. Lucie Jaguars have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 68-58 to Fleming Island on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryan Rodriguez, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Rodriguez hasn't dropped below 15 points for 14 straight games. Javien Sapienza was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.

It was another big night for Carson Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds for Fleming Island. Crawford has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was George Hamm, who scored 16 points along with two steals.

Port St. Lucie has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-6 record this season. As for Fleming Island, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port St. Lucie will take on Morningside Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morningside Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Fleming Island, they will be playing at home against Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Riverside has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 205 points over their last three contests.
