Baseball Game Preview: Collinsville Cardinals vs. Bartlesville Bruins

The Collinsville Cardinals are taking a road trip to square off against the Bartlesville Bruins at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Collinsville has four straight wins, Bartlesville has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

It was a proper cat-fight when Collinsville challenged Coweta on Tuesday. The Cardinals blew past the Tigers 10-2. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 15 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Bartlesville didn't have quite enough to beat Bixby on Tuesday and fell 2-1.

Bartlesville got a good showing from Hunter Shea, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits Shea has allowed over his last three games.

Collinsville's victory bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Bartlesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-14.

Everything went Collinsville's way against Bartlesville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Collinsville made off with a 7-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
