Basketball Recap: Holy Cross Takes a Loss

Holy Cross was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by the Holy Cross Catholic Academy Mustangs 73-35. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1575th, while the Mustangs are ranked 611th).

Holy Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Holy Cross Catholic Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross has already played their next game (against San Jacinto Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Holy Cross Catholic Academy will square off against Christ the King Cathedral at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Cross Catholic Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
