AA Region 6 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Hapeville Charter moved up to 356 from 430 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AA Region 6. Hapeville Charter was able to make the jump by beating Greene County 26-10.
Wesleyan and Brookstone played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Wesleyan eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory. Miles Smith ran for 102 yards and caught two passes for 25 yards in the win.
The Wolves' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jahmai Jones helped Wesleyan's passing attack out by catching three balls for 21 yards.
Will Anderson put up the best numbers through the air as Wesleyan bested the Cougars. He had a total of 10 completions for 76 yards.
Wesleyan's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wolves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Anderson has thrown for 768 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Jones has 16 catches for 369 yards. Smith leads the league in rushing with 332 yards.
Winston Gordon's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,802 from 12,436. The improvement was the result of 26-10 victory over the Tigers last week.
