Snake River extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 3-13. They lost 13-3 to the Bear Lake Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 back in March.
Neiley Mangum made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
As for Bear Lake, their record is now 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.
On Bear Lake's side, Lindsay Fisher made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Fisher has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Brielle Romrell and Taylin DeClark did most of the damage at the plate: Romrell got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while DeClark went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave DeClark a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Caleigh Beard, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Looking ahead, Snake River will face off against Teton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Timberwolves have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Bear Lake, they will take on Ririe at 10:45 a.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.5 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
