Kettle Run is 8-2 against Sherando since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cougars will take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Kettle Run will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

On Friday, Kettle Run made easy work of Handley and carried off a 4-1 victory. Considering Kettle Run have won eight contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Handley with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Peyton Lloyd (2), Julia Moore, and Maggie Gardner.

Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Sherando's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Meridian by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Sherando came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Meridian are ranked 183rd).

Sherando's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 9-2. As for Kettle Run, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0.

Kettle Run came out on top in a nail-biter against Sherando in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
