League recap: Centennial extends winning streak with victory over Ironwood

Centennial added to the longest winning streak in II Section III this week by beating Ironwood, 42-0. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Coyotes.

Kellis fell to Deer Valley 67-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. D'Von Freeman was a bright spot for the Cougars, as he threw for 102 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 59 yards in the defeat.

Angel Perez was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Eagles fell to Centennial. The 5-foot-9 defensive back nabbed 1 interception.

Freeman provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Kellis lost to the Skyhawks. Freeman's favorite target this week was Hector Lugo, who caught 5 passes for 80 yards.

Jordan Gungl and Jacob Garcia gave Apollo a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Gungl threw for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Garcia ran for 155 yards. Nico Bayless also contributed to the rushing game with 123 yards on the ground.

Liberty's Tyler Wyatt and Chad Bennett have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Wyatt has thrown for 1,795 yards this season, while Bennett has 36 catches for 696 yards. Dedrick Young from Richard Taylor's team leads the league in rushing with 1,296 yards.

The Lions' Zach Neill is a mere 85 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 104 carries Neill has accumulated 915 yard this year.

The Coyotes are in first place, while Willow Canyon is in sixth place.

The Hawks made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,849 from 5,162. The advance stemmed from a 35-9 victory over the Wildcats last week.
