Volleyball Recap: Cassville Comes Up Short

Cassville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Belmont Braves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

Cassville was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Belmont work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 20-25, 25-8, 26-24.

Brielle Fishnick paced Cassville's offense, picking up nine kills. Fishnick got some help from Jocelyn Adrian and her 23 assists. Abril Giral and Jacie Mergen kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Cassville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Belmont, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cassville will square off against rival Benton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Belmont is set to take on their familiar foe Potosi at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
