Softball Game Preview: Carroll Eagles vs. Headland Rams

Carroll hasn't had much luck against Headland recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will take on the Rams in a tournament on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Carroll is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Opp, falling 11-2.

Nevaeh Landrum made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Headland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-5 to Dothan.

Headland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shaylee Greathouse, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Headland's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11-1.

Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Carroll has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Headland struggles in that department as they've averaged .487. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Carroll suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Headland when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
