Basketball Game Preview: Mayfield Wildcats vs. Chardon Hilltoppers

Mayfield is on a three-game streak of home losses, Chardon a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Mayfield Wildcats will host the Chardon Hilltoppers at 7:30 p.m. Mayfield will be strutting in after a victory while Chardon will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Mayfield turned things around against South on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 58-51.

Meanwhile, Chardon suffered their biggest defeat since February 28, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against North, falling 73-49. The match marked the Hilltoppers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Chardon's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mayfield, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.

Mayfield took their victory against Chardon in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 76-56. Does Mayfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chardon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
