ELK GROVE, Calif. -
Franklin (Elk Grove, Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 35-24 win over
Monterey Trail (Elk Grove, Calif.).
The Wildcats put up seven points in the opening quarter. Franklin scored on a touchdown run by
Joey Banks.
After taking the lead on a Banks touchdown run in the first quarter, FHS led 14-6 at the half.
The Wildcats grew their lead to 16 points entering the fourth quarter. Franklin scored two times in the third, including once on a
Donavon Vernon touchdown run.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 28-6 win for FHS.
The loss was the third in a row for the Mustangs. With the win the Wildcats extended their winning streak to four games.
