Softball Recap: Southwest Onslow Beats Lejeune for Their Third Straight Win

Southwest Onslow had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Lejeune Devil Pups by a score of 6-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Stallions also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Whitney Grissett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Grace Randolph was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Southwest Onslow now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lejeune, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3-1 record this season.

Southwest Onslow has already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against North Lenoir on the 14th. As for Lejeune, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Wilmington Christian Academy on the 14th.
