Basketball Recap: Chatham HomeSchool Thunder vs. St. David's Warriors

The Chatham HomeSchool Thunder entered their tilt with the St. David's Warriors with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Chatham HomeSchool sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 76-73 win over the Warriors on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Leading Chatham HomeSchool to victory were Gray Cable and Zach Johnson. Cable dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Johnson almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cable has scored all season. Sam Woodard was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six assists and two steals.

St. David's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being George Coleman, who went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 2 assists. Another player making a difference was Cooper Berkoff, who scored 20 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.

Chatham HomeSchool is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for St. David's, they dropped their record down to 7-15 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Chatham HomeSchool will head out on the road to challenge the Storm at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Life Camp has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19. As for St. David's, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Wake Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in North Carolina (the Bulldogs are ranked 174th, while the Warriors are ranked 352nd).
